What a Guy

An amazing 25th anniversary present from my better half ~ as part of our vows 25 years ago, we each read a quote from Adam Bede by George Eliot. I've lost my part along the way, but he kept his in his wallet and bought a silver toned frame (for our silver anniversary), bought paper and vellum overlaid with hearts and printed it in a font he picked and presented it to me on our anniversary! Who knew he could be sooo amazingly thoughtful and romantic???...and we both cried.
What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined for life - to strengthen each other in all labour, to rest on each other in all sorrow, to minister to each other in all pain, to be one with each other in silent unspeakable memories at the moment of the last parting?

  1. Beautiful....Yes, our "better halves" are sometimes just that, aren't they....our BETTER halves. My husband wrote me a poem for our 25th, and it was GOOD....I've always been the poetry writer, but did I think to write one for him? No. I felt so loved, and, yes, like you, we both shed a few tears, too. Congratulations on your 25 wonderful years together...May God bless your marriage for 25 more years.
