First Snow
I'm a bit behind in posting. Busy doings here as the babyMomma and her little family made the move across the street into their new home for the new year! Her in-laws arrived for a week so ready or not they moved over. It was in stages, mom and dad first for a few overnights ....then Charlie,......then the cats. All the stuff has yet to go, but there are no deadlines for that. Hopefully they will be able to take just what they need/want and donate or sell or toss what they realize they don't. Here are just a few pics out my window during the first snowfall of the new year last week and a final shot of the old girls keeping warm on a cold day.

Prowling Predators...By Land and By Air
This morning has been quite distracting. My cats kept running to windowsills, from one side of the house to the other. I finally joined them with binocs and camera in hand. I wasn't able to capture the action, only the culprit...a solid, black cat with a white bib and socks, trying to take on two turkeys! He had them on the run but he finally got tired and left.
Next up was this Sharp-shinned hawk, I believe...it could have been Cooper's, but I think it was smaller. I ran to an upstairs window that doesn't have a screen so my shots wouldn't be too terrible. Wednesday, February 29, 2012
Wildlife for a Wednesday
I've moved the wildlife camera from the edge of the swamp to get a look at the side of the house. For a few weeks now, the cats are getting all fluffed up and we can't see anything outside that might be upsetting them.....till we heard barking last night!

Weird Wednesday - Updated
Juvenile woodpeckers.....haven't quite figured out the bird feeder.
Arch enemies!! These two can't pass each other across a room without mad hissing.
My rhododendron is blooming!!! It's not June....it's almost the end of August!!
Weird!

What happened to November??
Well, I realized I can't knit very well on circular needles. No tension and the stocking ended up ridiculously large and baggy!!! The foot is great - that's on double pointed needles and nice and snug....although I goofed and didn't start the red for the heel till it was almost too late! I have been pulling out the quilt some evenings to hand quilt a block or two. I'm in no rush to finish it at this point. Other than that, I've been trying to fill in for the baby momma who injured her shoulder and so I'm exhausted....
